As the first home textiles brand to earn a Fair Trade certification, they reinvented the supply chain from cotton seed to customer. Their eco-friendly and luxurious bedding quickly gained popularity, leading to rapid growth and reaching over $27 million in annual revenue within their first three years.

This rapid growth presented Boll & Branch with unusual challenges, requiring unconventional thinking and innovative systems to maintain profit margins while staying true to their core values of sustainability, transparency, and ethical practices. Committing to Fair Trade meant higher production costs, necessitating an ultra-efficient infrastructure and automated processes. David Reid, COO and CFO, aimed to scale the company for future growth, evolving from a single Shopify store and warehouse to a complex ecosystem requiring a holistic solution to streamline business functions and ensure seamless data flow across interconnected systems, with NetSuite as the chosen ERP.

Diff built a comprehensive ERP integration that orchestrates complex processes, interconnecting data from order sources to their supply network, enabling strategic customer experience initiatives and internal automation.

Comprehensive ERP Integration & Orchestration: Diff developed a comprehensive ERP integration that serves as the central orchestration engine for Boll & Branch's complex processes. This solution seamlessly interconnects data from all order sources to their entire supply network, ensuring real-time accuracy and efficiency across the business.

Enhanced Customer Experience Capabilities: The integration made strategic customer experience initiatives possible, allowing customers to shop with up-to-date accurate inventory, purchase from a single checkout regardless of fulfillment location, upgrade shipping with optimal carrier rates, and track and manage orders online with real-time updates. It also enabled flexible gift card options (physical and digital).

Automated Internal Operations & Business Management Tools: Internally, processes were significantly automated, and a suite of custom tools was created to manage the business. This included a panel for Customer Service to manage orders and process refunds, automated flagging and review of potentially fraudulent orders, intelligent routing of orders to appropriate fulfillment centers or made-to-order factories, and zip code mapping for optimized mattress delivery.

Robust System Overrides & Virtual Warehousing: The solution incorporated options to override and retry automated processes, providing critical flexibility. Additionally, it enabled virtual warehousing of inventory specifically set aside for retail partners, optimizing stock management and distribution for various sales channels.
