DeSerres is a leading Canadian retailer of art supplies, known for its wide selection of high-quality products and its commitment to inspiring creativity in artists of all levels.

To better serve its customers and enhance its online presence, DeSerres embarked on a project to completely redesign its e-commerce platform and migrate to Shopify Plus, aiming to create a more engaging and seamless online experience.

The Challenge

Driven by a desire to better serve its artistic community and elevate its online presence, DeSerres embarked on an ambitious project to completely redesign its e-commerce platform and migrate to Shopify Plus, with the goal of creating a more engaging online experience, supported by robust integrations.

Key goals:

  • Enhanced User Experience: Modernizing their e-commerce presence to create a more engaging and intuitive user experience, including improved browsing of hundreds of color options and increased site speed.
  • Scalability & Performance: Supporting a large product catalog (25k+ SKUs) while increasing mobile conversion rates and ensuring a high-performing website.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamlining operations with massive integrations, enabling better client service for B2B customers, and providing tools for managing and planning promotions.

The Solution

To address DeSerres' challenges and achieve its goals, we developed a creative and customer-centric Shopify Plus experience focused on enhancing the user interface, streamlining operations, and providing a seamless omnichannel experience.

Complete Redesign with Enhanced UX/UI: Undertook a total redesign of their platform, creating a visually appealing and intuitive user experience. Including a new product detail page (PDP) with enhanced color selection options.

Customized Account Interfaces: Developed customized account interfaces to provide a more personalized and efficient experience for both B2B and B2C customers. Allowing customers to easily manage their orders, track their purchases, and access exclusive content.

Seamless Omnichannel Integration: Implemented an in-store pickup option, allowing customers to conveniently purchase products online and pick them up at their local DeSerres store.

Improved Information Architecture (IA): Conducted a total UX review of the website's information architecture to ensure seamless navigation and product discoverability. Making it easier for customers to find the products they need and explore new creative possibilities.

Virtual Shopify Gift Cards: Integrated virtual Shopify gift cards, providing customers with a convenient and flexible gifting option. Therefore expanding DeSerres' revenue streams and provides customers with a valuable service.
